We could use it for even more things, if we needed, such as logging fronts.Ever since we discovered it, this is our "home" app. You don't get into a pre-made ecosystem; you build your own. We built our whole space all from scratch, for the most optimal use by all of us. It takes time to learn things as there's definitely a curve, but we found it very worth it in the end!

Using another browser?

Not all browsers support this yet as this is a fairly recent feature. General steps

1. Create Profiles

Before chatting, you'll want your messages to be attached to different profiles.To do this, first click the down arrow next to "Create", then "Create Type".

Mobile: From your space, go to Settings (cog icon on the top right corner) -> Object Types -> "+" Plus button 
You will then see an "Editing type" screen.On the right side, give your type a name and a plural name.You can make customisations as you wish, just make sure you keep the "Page" format.Then under "Layout", change the "Layout type" to "Profile".

You may also want to set "Header position" to "Center".When you're done, click "Create"! 
Pro tip: Pin the type to the sidebar, so it's quickly accessible. A pin button is located on the top-right corner of the screen.

From your new type, you'll be able to create profile objects in any way you all want!In our example, we'll click "+ New Object" then (roughly) create Emi's profile.

Pro tip: To avoid copy-pasting the same fields into all new profiles, take advantage of making a template and customising properties!

2. Create Chats

Now you'll want to create one (or multiple) chatrooms for your profiles to talk.To do this, a "Chats" type is already available to use by default. Click the down arrow in "Create" -> then "Chat".

Name your chatroom and customise it, in our example we'll name it "Lounge"; then it'll create and open for you. 
Pro tip: Before using it, you'll also want to pin the "Chats" type, found in your sidebar under "Objects", the same way as you did earlier with profiles.

3. Start using Chats!

Simply send messages as you wish, but most importantly, you'll want to attach a profile to your bubbles as soon as the author changes.To attach a profile, press the + button -> then "Existing Object".

From the screen that pops-up, simply find and select your profile. It'll then be attached to your message.Then simply start typing anything you want as your message, and send it!Here's a little example conversation:

1. Create a new Type

To keep front logs organised in one place, we're going to create a new type exclusively made for them.To do this, first click the down arrow next to "Create", then "Create Type".

Mobile: From your space, go to Settings (cog icon on the top right corner) -> Object Types -> "+" Plus button 
You will then see an "Editing type" screen.On the right side, give your type a name and a plural name. (such as "Front·s", "Front entry/ies" or "Front log·s")Then under "Layout", change the "Layout type" to "Note".

You can make customisations as you wish, just make sure you keep the "Page" format.Once you're done, click Create.

2. Set up Profile Links and Entry Dates

From the type's overview, click "Edit Type".

The little information parts you attach to an object, that are visible in views, such as dates, links, tags and more are called Properties. We will use them to set start and end dates, as well as to add profiles to a front entry.So first, let's make the properties through the "Editing type" screen.

First, we're going to make the Start date property. This is simply when the front starts.After clicking +, simply type "Start date", then click "+ Create Property Start date"

The property creator will open, change the Property Type to "Date".

Note: Do not check "Include time". We'll include this later. This'll be for mobile compatibility.Once you're done, click "Save". 
Now we're going to include the Start time.It is done the same way: Create a new property using the + button, then type "Start time".

Set the Property Type to "Text".

Then Save. 
Now, you'll want the End date and time, because a front ends at some point.Create two more properties the same ways as you just did, but instead of typing "Start date" and "Start time", type "End date" and "End time". 
Once they're also saved, you will find them in the Properties list in the type editor.We suggest you reorder these properties like the image below:

Then, unless you need something else and/or want to do personal customisations, leave everything else hidden and Save. 
The last thing is to show your properties in your front type's overview. Because for now, you only see the "Name" one!To show other properties, click the + button located on the grid's head after everything else.

A list of all available properties with toggles will show.Let's then toggle on the properties we've set before:

Everything else can be left as-is, toggled off. 
Finally, let's sort our entries, so the most recent fronts are shown to the top.Click the "Sorts" button, represented as two opposite facing arrows.

A new row will open, showing your sorts and filters.

You'll want to change from "Last modified date" to your "Start date".Then let's also do it by time: click "Add sort", then select "Start time".If the arrow is facing upwards, click it to flip it downwards.The end result should look like this:

3. Start logging entries!

Pro tip: Want your front logs to have preset fields? Create a template that will be applied to all your new entries!Now's time to hit the shiny New button!

So here's how it works: Creating a front entry will make a page where you will be able to input absolutely everything you want. This means you can journal in there as well!But here's what you will need to remember before everything else:

Who can see shared information

Public pages can be viewed by people you share to, anyone with access to your messages or profile bio links, your "friends", and most importantly, random strangers who visit / scrap without you knowing.If the access is restricted to e.g. Discord servers you joined, or for any other cases, all other members can access, share and screenshot your content.

AVOID SHARING!

Best safety measure is that you don't share a public page at all and only introduce yourself/ves to people you know. But if you do, for any reasons, then absolutely do NOT mention:

Pro tips: Feel free to use a global online identity that's entirely different from how you're represented IRL.
Also, you have the right to deny answering to questions to protect yourself/ves and break toxic relationships if one e.g. insists too far.

What they can do about these

P4& are no ones to gatekeep. But be aware that other people would be able to use your information against yourself/ves in these potential ways: Harassment, discrimination, public shaming (such as on r/systemscringe, btw report this subreddit), menaces, etc. Some of the consequences can be (almost) unrecoverable!!So make sure to watch every word you type and every media you upload before publishing anything! Sometimes it's best to publish not enough rather than too much!

"Why is this project not listed here? / Why was my message blocked in this public chat? / What is actually happening??"

Hi - All of these questions are going to be answered below.We wish we didn't have to bring these topics onto the table, but they cannot be avoided for many reasons.
 
Lately, we've been seeing more evidences, we are feeling particularly uncomfortable related to a whole situation surrounding Ourcana (and even more about a few other projects) and we've been doubting ourselves about how we should handle projects with a problematic foreground and/or background.At this time, you must've heard of Ourcana; it's pretty popular now. But if you don't know it already, some in Ourcana's community staff, mostly including the main developer, are proven to show intolerable and dangerous behaviours in their community and surroundings. We'll expand on this later - this is not the article for it.We've also seen many cases of you (people) missing the opportunity to get aware of problematic and unsafe situations behind what you are using. This includes, but is not limited to: vibe-coded tools that are unethical and involve security risks too easily; developers who treat other apps as "competitors" instead of co-existing peacefully or allow themselves to bully specific people. The last part is never okay to do for any reason. Again, this will be expanded later.All of this means, we've made a major mistake. We will never hesitate to acknowledge whenever we realise we made any mistake. Some of you all may have ended up "blind" because of how we organised P4& and have likely found one of the "shadow banned" projects outside of this site. And we express our deepest apologies if that's the case for you(&). We want our users to make informed choices, instead of hiding things and pretend that everything is fine. Because not everything is fine. That's also not transparency.

We've been aware of this mistake for a while, but we couldn't figure out what exactly needed to be changed. Now that we figured it out, we want to remedy from this mistake. So here are our plans: instead of "shadow banning" problematic projects from P4& (because that's clearly how it was), we will list them anyways, but they will have clear disclaimers before they can access anything. What falls under a disclaimer will be clearly indicated.We've replaced "Listing Guidelines" with something more appropriate that we called "Ethical Norms", that you can read here. A "Disclaimers" section will be shown on all project pages, even on those who don't have any. This means those who respect our views of ethics and safety should have a "certified-like" mention on their project's page (for example: "This project is confirmed to have no disclaimers: it follows our ethical norms and provides a safe environment (...)" - not all projects will have this, some will inevitably have a lower level of trust).The concerns should not stay hidden and we want to stay true to ourselves and everyone else. However, we understand that many topics are dangerous, so evidences and other details won't be told straight on this site. Ever since SP's sunset, in addition to P4& heavily growing, we've heard about so many people wanting to list tools, similar to us, and that's great! However, while we respect and support their work, we noticed reoccurring cases where rumours have often not been clearly checked and/or are outdated (often not providing dates). We'll do our best to stay "drama-free" as much as possible and we've always allowed talking about these problematic projects in private or dedicated spaces, and will continue to allow so.We invite you to check for any disclaimers about the listed projects that you all are using by simply going to their project page from this site. We are also welcoming feedback and if there are any issues with our new plans, please tell us what's wrong and how we can improve them (in private please). We thank you for your understanding. We've noticed plenty of things happening and so decided to open our official blog account on Tumblr!Access our blog from this link or easily from the Help page!

What it will be used for

As of right now, it will act as an alternative to Discord to ask for help and give feedback.We will try to keep it up with news from there, but our support server on Discord will stay our main, unless anything major happens with the platform (which is unlikely).We hope this can bring more visibility to the hidden projects and that it will be helpful to those who wish not to use Discord and/or for any other reasons! 
That's pretty much everything for now, read our first (and only) post from there! (btw we still keep adding projects to the drafts!)

What do you mean? Why this article?

As of lately, this project hasn't been developing fast. We first want to thank you for your patience as we are still developing this website until true usability.The thing is, some people have been wondering what was going on, and most importantly, if P4& is going to "sunset", shut down or something of this kind. We've also thought a lot about providing backup solutions if one cannot be handled anymore, and this article would first help us clear our overwhelming thoughts. 
TL;DR: We are getting more and more busy in real life, and this is the only reason why development has slowed down. We're still pretty much online on Discord and have read every single message until now. We continue to do such for as long as we can.

What's the bright future?

We wish everyone knew how much we're excited for this whole thing to be done.Imagine a next-generation, stable and reliable resource for all digital tools for plurals, that you'd find nowhere else. It's not only about listing tools; we also attempt to give what you need in these tools.

We expect people to use our resources freely without crediting us. If one is simply looking for an app, we also expect them to eventually forget this project. If one wants a centralised place, they now know where to go!

What if all of this cannot be handled anymore one day?

Then nothing's lost: We will apply one of our backup plans, such as the ones below:

This website

TL;DR: We continue to add things to this website, including the app listing and Q&A during our free time as we always did.Hosting this site, along with our other ones, is more than affordable to us, and there won't be any problem with this part anytime soon. Carrd, up until now, is a relatively generous service, and we are very thankful that something like this exists in today's economy. We sure hope that no price increases will happen to offer the same things later as today, and we haven't seen any plans for it so far.As for our availability, we are currently in a year long break, for health reasons. We recently left high school and needed to focus on our well-being before doing anything physically huge once again. As our health is getting more stable over time, we had plenty of free time to build this project, but we also do other things alongside. That to say we're kind of multitasking even without school or work, ever since our long burnout phase has ended. Sleep still isn't our thing, though. But we're almost always online as this is a lot of what we're doing.We work on this project whenever we can, and without pressure, as otherwise this would quickly generate another burnout (we were close to that when we saw the community rush on finding alternatives as soon as SP announced its sunset). This project went through a recreation to this site ever from February, before any of the sunset stuff happened.

Help Centre

What if we, as the builders, aren't able to help or moderate our volunteer Help Centre? Then nothing will happen until we're available again.That's why we are looking for helpers and moderators. And simply members who are willing to help others, even if they don't have a role, and especially those with rare answers that pretty much no one else would have. They can help with the community at times when we can't. We are thankful to have people like them and encourage everyone to keep helping each other!

Templates & Inspirations

For now, this is a rough idea, and a promise that we will at least deliver something. At the moment, we've published our own templates that we made months ago on a separate project (way before P4&), and the non-SP-specific ones will make it to this site first!Then we are thinking about periodically opening and closing user submissions, depending on how things can be handled. If this is too much, we'll leave them to these templates / inspirations communities. However, we are doing this because we are offering a new approach that promotes usage without drama or other complications. Submissions will be done privately until they get added publicly to the site, you can decide whether to credit or anonymise you, and there will be zero space for discrimination on whoever can use User Submitted Content. USC on this site will be able to be used by everyone, and people will be able to ask for getting specific content in our Help Centre.

Sunset

If this project ends up discontinuing- wait no, it won't discontinue (and it can't)! Remember this is a hobby project and it means we don't have responsibilities like at work. (we also love evenings)At very most, it'd be on hiatus until we're able to support it again. At the very worst, if you hear nothing from us, this site is hosted based on a yearly subscription, and if anything major happens, we can give management access to this site and Help Centre to whoever we can trust.

End Line

Finally, the end goal of this article isn't to waste time; it's a mindful moment for us and to organise our thoughts to make things happen actually faster, and for you all to hopefully be relieved from this wall of text. At this precise moment, we are dealing with a specific long IRL task and should get back here in beginning of April. We'll absolutely do our best before SP's deadline! (and there's still plenty of time at the time of creating this article) 
On an unrelated note (this happened just now), we heard your feedback across websites. The new listing is now on a single page! The categories are now scroll points (instead of opening sub-pages), and you can now see everything just by scrolling!

We are Euphya — a plural hoard of beings living in a separate world, and the only ones working on this project!This project is the result of an amazing passion from our dedicated writers and lots of potential from our researches!Ultimately, P4& is a hobby project. This means, we work on it and help people during our free time. We aren't forced to do anything, but are willing to do our best to provide you as much help as we can. We also don't earn anything and instead pay a small yearly fee to host this website. However, we still hope you will consider this project as more than just a hobby, but as your go-to resource of digital plural content!

Why do we need alternatives?

Because you just cannot please everyone. This is true with people, but also with apps and tools: someone will value qualities and flaws that are different from someone else's.And what if a service shuts down or some disaster happens? Then if it's too late, you're left with nothing. The best practice to avoid data loss is to regularly make exports and/or backups.You have the right to own your data (as you should), but you are also responsible of your data, so keep it safe at all times.
